Teacher of Physics and/or Mathematics (Maternity Cover)- British School 2023/2024
We are looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic Physics and/or Mathematics Teacher to join our British School Team from 1 February 2024. The role is initially a maternity cover post, however, there may be scope for the role to transition into a longer-term contract based on school needs and mutual agreement for the 2024-2025 academic year.
This is a role that will involve teaching across the secondary age range, including IBMYP (Years 7, 8, 9) as well as IGCSE (Years 10, 11). There may be scope for A-Level teaching. The successful candidate will work within our Mathematics and/or Science Departments, and will join with the wider staff team to promote interdisciplinary thinking, connection to real life situations, and to support our whole school’s continuing priority of improving student literacy.

You will need:

Head of Care, Guidance & Support- British School 2023/2024
We are looking for an outstanding Head of Care, Guidance & Support (encompassing the role of
SENDCO) to join our British School Team from 1 September 2024, 1 April 2024 or 1 January 2024.
Core purpose
To lead and manage the provision of special educational needs, learning support, counselling and to
take on the role of Head of Care, Guidance & Support to ensure high-quality teaching, effective use
of resources, and high standards of learning and achievement for all students by planning, delivering
and monitoring provision and tracking impact on student progress.
Strategic development
The Head of Care, Guidance & Support is responsible for the implementation of the Special
Educational Needs policy and strategy across the whole school. They will also oversee the work of
counselling within the school and also ensure that we are meeting statutory requirements in
ensuring that appropriate safeguarding measures are in place. The postholder will be expected to
take a strategic lead in evaluating and developing these areas and ensuring that each student is
positively encouraged, supported and challenged to make outstanding progress.
The postholder will input into curriculum development, pathways development, and the whole
school strategic plan. The postholder will be responsible for overseeing individual provision for
students, Access Arrangements, deployment of Learning Support Teachers, deployment of
counsellors ensuring effective record keeping of history of need over time, establishing the school’s
provision mapping, and quality assuring the provision.

Economics and Business Teacher – Key Stages 4 and 5 – British School 2023/2024
We are looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic Economics and Business Teacher to join our British School Team from 1 January 2024, or sooner for the right candidate.
This is a role that will involve teaching IGCSE and/or A-Level Economics, as well as IGCSE and/or A-Level Business Studies. The ability to offer IGCSE Accounting would be an advantage. The successful candidate will work within our Accounting, Business and Economics Department, and will join with the wider staff team to promote creativity, original expression, teamworking, and to support our whole school’s continuing priority of improving student literacy. El Alsson puts emphasis on promoting and supporting STEAM and enterprise, with students having access to competitions, visiting guests, and hands-on activities to contextualise their learning. Our Key Stage 3 provision offers an in-house designed Entrepreneurship course, which provides an excellent foundation for students as they prepare for Business Education subjects at KS4 and KS5.
