Return to Campus Learning February 21
We are pleased to inform you that following the Ministry of Education announcement of February 14th, we will be welcoming your children back to campus beginning Sunday, 21st February.
Health and Safety:
On campus learning will resume for all students on Sunday 21st February at 7:50am under the same measures and arrangements as we were operating under before Christmas. These measures include:
- wearing of masks/visors at all times on campus (excluding PE lessons and break times)
- temperature checks on arrival to campus, hand sanitization and the observance of one way systems and social distancing.
- school day which follows the same timetable as before Christmas in Term 1.
- parents and visitors to the school will only be permitted if a meeting is called by the school or parents are wishing to make fee payments.
- Procedures for reporting positive cases to the school (see below)
- Measures to isolate, at home, any student in prolonged and direct contact for a period of 10 days from the last contact in school.
Travel arrangements on buses (masks being worn at all times, temperature checks and hand sanitisation) and car drop off and pick up arrangements will remain as before Christmas. Parents are urged to continue the high standards that were set in Term 1 for drop off and pick up arrangements. Our security team and senior staff will again be on hand to support this process.
Further details will be released in the coming days concerning the Ministry Examinations for Years 5-13 and Grades 4-12. This information will confirm arrangements and planning for both the mid-year and end of year examinations.
External Examinations for British School Years 11, 12 and 13:
Following the announcement made yesterday the school is working with the British Council to confirm arrangements for IGCSE/IAL examinations this summer and the internal preparation examinations scheduled for late February and March for Years 11, 12 and 13. We will update parents and students in Years 11, 12 and 13 in the coming days.
American High School University Entrance Tests
We are aware that the announcement made yesterday discussed standardized tests (EST/ACT/SAT) used for admissions considerations at local universities. We wish to assure parents that we are following these developments very closely and will communicate separately with high school parents when details are fully available to us.
We do ask that this week you please inform our school doctor (Dr. Sally Gouda: firstname.lastname@example.org) if your child or any member of your household is presently positive for Covid 19 or displaying symptoms. This will help us to ensure that you are advised accordingly, and that we are sufficiently informed to safeguard our whole school community. We also remind your child and members of your household to please exercise caution and appropriate protective measures at all times so as to minimize risk of contraction.
As always, we appreciate your flexibility and your understanding at this continued uncertain time and wish to assure you that our decision making at this time is informed foremost by the wellbeing and learning of your children. Should you have any concerns over your child returning to on campus learning please contact your child’s Head of Key Stage or Division to discuss this.
